The Israeli occupation carried out a new massacre on Thursday, targeting a residential building in western Gaza City and completely destroying it, killing four Palestinians and injuring nine others. Civil defense teams continue to search for dozens of missing people beneath the rubble amid extensive destruction in the area.
According to Al Mayadeen’s correspondent, the airstrike struck just hours before the Israeli government was set to meet to approve the Gaza ceasefire agreement. Occupation warplanes bombed a home filled with residents in the al-Sabra neighborhood, causing the building to collapse entirely on its inhabitants.
Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal stated that rescue teams have been working for hours at the site of the attack on al-Thalathini Street in the al-Sabra area, where Israeli aircraft destroyed the home of the Ghabbon family. He said operations are continuing under “extremely difficult and dangerous conditions” due to ongoing air and artillery bombardment and a lack of necessary equipment to remove debris.
Hamas condemned what it called a “new brutal massacre” committed by the Israeli occupation, confirming that the attack led to the killing and injury of more than 70 civilians, most of whom remain trapped under the rubble.
Hamas condemns brutal massacre
In its statement, Hamas said, “This new horrific massacre aims to sow chaos, obstruct the mediators’ efforts, and derail the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.” The movement added that “these systematic crimes against unarmed civilians, women, children, and the elderly, reveal the true face of this bloodthirsty, fascist entity and its determination to continue the genocide until the last moment.”
Hamas called on mediators and the US administration to assume their responsibilities and intervene immediately to compel the occupation to stop targeting innocent civilians and children.
Al Mayadeen’s correspondent also reported that Israeli air raids have resumed across several areas of southwestern Gaza, while Israeli artillery shelled the northern parts of the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Strip.
In a separate incident, a woman suffered severe burns and injuries when an Israeli illumination bomb struck her tent in the al-Mawasi area, northwest of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
'Israel' resumes aggression on Gaza
Al Mayadeen’s correspondent in Gaza reported at dawn that the Israeli occupation army continued its bombardment across various areas of the Gaza Strip, despite the official announcement of a ceasefire agreement intended to end the war and initiate a halt to the aggression.
According to our correspondent, "Israel's" genocide destroyed nearly 80% of Gaza over the past two years. The impact of the aggression has left the fate of thousands of civilians and journalists still unknown, amid a complete collapse of infrastructure and major obstacles preventing rescue teams from accessing many of the hardest-hit areas.
The Government Media Office called on the Palestinian people to exercise the highest levels of caution during movement, stressing the importance of awaiting an official announcement from the relevant Palestinian authorities before feeling fully reassured.
