“Israel” assassinates senior PIJ officials in Gaza air raid

The Israeli occupation forces have murdered several Palestinian Islamic Jihad officials in the latest air raid conducted on the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli occupation forces conducted numerous airstrikes on various cities in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday dawn, an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported.

Israeli affairs expert Hassan Abdo told Al Mayadeen that the IOF's raids targeted residential apartments that were home to senior members of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ).

Moreover, the Palestinian health ministry reported that women and children were among the martyrs in Gaza.

The Israeli occupation forces said the Israeli Air Force's air raids on Gaza have martyred Jihad Ghannam, the chief of the southern command of the PIJ's armed wing, the Al-Quds Brigades, and his wife.

The Israeli occupation's air raids also targeted Islamic Jihad spokesperson Tarek Ezzedine's house, it was preliminarily reported before it was confirmed that the PIJ official had been martyred.

Another martyr was the commander of the northern region of the Islamic Jihad, Commander Khalil Al-Bahtimi.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said nine Palestinians in total were killed in the Israeli aerial bombardment of the Gaza Strip.

Additionally, an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported that rescue teams had found bodies of women and children under the rubble of the targeted apartment buildings.

The air raids started early Tuesday, with the IOF waging aggression on Gaza and injuring numerous civilians in the process.

After the warplanes bombed the blockaded Strip, the Israeli government ordered its settlers in the settlements of the Gaza envelope to go into bomb shelters until further notice.
