Israeli Reserve General: Nasrallah is provoking, humiliating 'Israel'
Israeli officials discuss the accuracy of Nasrallah's "spider web" theory after the liberation of South Lebanon in 2000, pointing to the internal crises and weaknesses in "Israel."
The former head of the Operations Division of the Israeli occupation army, Reserves Major General Israel Ziv, said that the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, should not be underestimated, because he is "a very smart person."
Ziv told Israeli Channel 12 that Nasrallah is aware that "what is happening in Israel affirms his spider web theory," which he spoke of after the liberation of southern Lebanon in 2000. He added, "He reads our newspapers every morning, follows our news, and perhaps watches us while we speak on television, and understands and sees Israel's erosion, collapse, and the division within it."
Ziv stressed that Nasrallah knows he does not need to engage in provocations to start a war, "he will not give Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a ladder to descend from the tree to unite the Israelis against him again."
Moreover, he said that Nasrallah is engaging in provocations to insult the government, humiliate "Israel," showing its weakness, as Ziv expressed his belief that "Israel will see a lot of this, and will then face a dilemma." He added that "Israel" is in a critical position because any move could lead to "escalations with a politically tied hand."
Ziv called on Netanyahu to stop the judicial amendments and the protests against them, before losing control over them, saying: "Netanyahu, you are harming every place and everything, and our national security."

In the same context, the military affairs commentator on the Israeli Channel 13, Or Heller, said, "Nasrallah sees the Israeli division as a weakness, and is working to exploit it through provocations at the borders." Heller added, "In the coming weeks, we will enter a bad stage. If every soldier is threatening not to join the service, specifically the Air Force pilots, this will definitely harm the army's war readiness."
The Israeli fears of a "possible war" with Lebanon come after Hezbollah set up two tents at the border areas in southern Lebanon last June, in response to the Israeli attacks and its continuous violations of the Lebanese towns on the border.
Gili Cohen, a political affairs commentator on the Israeli channel Kan, revealed that the "army" supported indirect mediations between "Israel" and Lebanon, on the sensitive issue of land borders between the two sides during talks that Netanyahu held yesterday to "assess the situation" regarding Lebanon with the participation of both the Minister of Security, Yoav Gallant, and the Minister of Strategic Affairs.
Likewise, Israeli media outlets touched on Nasrallah’s speech, in which he threatened Netanyahu and with him the leaders of the entity, saying: “Beware of any foolishness,” because the resistance in Lebanon “will not be complacent and will not abandon its responsibilities to protect or deter, and it will be ready for any situation and to confront any mistake or act of foolishness."
