Israeli security source likens Hamas tunnels to 'spider's web'
Despite nine months of warfare, Israeli forces still lack comprehensive knowledge of the tunnel system.
Speaking to "Israel's" Channel 12 on Saturday, an Israeli Security source labelled the Hamas tunnels in the Gaza Strip as resembling a "spider's web."
The source revealed that despite extensive efforts, Israeli forces have yet to fully understand or control the network of tunnels used by Hamas.
According to the source, Hamas fighters have effectively used these tunnels to launch surprise attacks, managing to disappear underground and strike simultaneously from multiple locations.
The intricate network means that even if one tunnel is severed, others remain operational.

The source also noted that Hamas uses its tunnels to move forces and logistical equipment throughout Gaza, suggesting that dismantling the network and restoring security would require a prolonged and sustained conflict.
Despite nine months of warfare, Israeli forces still lack comprehensive knowledge of the tunnel system.
In related news, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the "Atlantis Project," an Israeli military plan to flood Gaza's tunnels with seawater, has been deemed a failure and abandoned.
Gaza Resistance deals casualties among Israeli forces in Tal al-Hawa
Earlier today, Hamas' al-Qassam Brigades reported executing multiple operations, including direct confrontations and rocket attacks.
In Gaza City's Tal al-Hawa neighborhood, Hamas' al-Qassam Brigades engaged in direct confrontations and rocket attacks, targeting Israeli infantry and armored vehicles. The fighting in Tal al-Hawa was intense, with Resistance fighters using RPGs, mortars, and locally-produced shells, resulting in Israeli casualties.
Further south, in the Netzarim Axis, Resistance fighters shelled Israeli command and control positions with rockets and mortar fire. The Axis has been a key location for Israeli forces, both as a field base and attack point.
In other areas, including Juhr al-Deek and southern Khan Younis, Palestinian factions such as al-Qassam Brigades, al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, and the PFLP's Abu Ali Mustapha Brigades conducted mortar and rocket attacks on Israeli positions. The Israeli military issued evacuation orders to civilians in response to the ongoing attacks.
