The big picture

On Friday, two young men Mahmoud Hassan Abdul Rahman Zaid, 28, and Ihab Abdul Karim Musa Abu Hamed, 29 were assassinated by the Israeli occupation forces in Qalqilya.

According to witnesses, a special unit of the Israeli occupation forces stormed the city and fired at the vehicle carrying Zaid and Abu Hamed in central Qalqilya.

The gunfire led to the killing of the two Palestinian youths, causing the vehicle to crash into a curb outside a local shop.

The Israeli forces prevented medical teams and civilians from approaching the scene. Local sources reported that the occupation forces seized the vehicle and detained the bodies of the martyrs before withdrawing from the city. Additionally, two Palestinians who were nearby sustained injuries as a result of the attack.

This brings the total number of Palestinians killed in the occupied West Bank since October 7 to 552, a stark figure that includes 135 children, according to the Ministry of Health.
