Palestinian Wafa news agency has reported that Israeli settlers have stormed Al-Aqsa in the old city of Al-Quds.

Israeli settlers made a provocative tour of the compound's courtyard on Sunday while under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces.

Israeli police also imposed strict restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers. Settlers usually storm the Mughrabi gate to perform rituals and are usually met with resistance from Palestinians.

Daily confrontations have been taking place in the past between settlers and Palestinians who have been injured, arrested, or killed.

Last month, Palestinian Resistance factions in the Gaza Strip warned in a statement that daily raids of Al-Aqsa Mosque carried out by the Israeli settlers under the protection of the police and the Israeli occupation forces are a severe violation of the Mosque's sanctity.

The extremist occupation government meeting in one of the tunnels under the Al-Buraq Wall will not give it legitimacy, as Al-Aqsa Mosque will remain a purely Islamic holy site, and all of the occupation's efforts to divide it will be met with failure, the factions stressed.

They underlined that the Israeli occupation bears full responsibility for the repercussions of its continued violation of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and its provocations, stressing that it will not allow these violations to continue.
