Under the protection of Israeli occupation forces (IOF), scores of Israeli settlers have once again burst into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied Al-Quds.

According to Palestine's official WAFA news agency, the radical settlers entered the holy site's courtyards through the Mughrabi Gate and conducted a provocative tour of the grounds early on Sunday.

According to the Islamic Endowment Department in Al-Quds, settlers performed provocative rituals and Talmudic prayers in the Bab al-Rahma area, and IOF troops barred Palestinian worshipers from entering the mosque. Violence against worshippers and stormings of Al-Aqsa have increased since Benjamin Netanyahu's far-right extremist coalition assumed power last December.

Usually under the protection of the IOF,  they often result in confrontations with Palestinians at the mosque, with many injured, jailed, and killed.

The occupation has ramped up its Judaization plans in occupied Al-Quds, having issued 877 forced-expulsion orders since the beginning of 2023 against Palestinians residing in the city, the Palestinian Prisoners Center for Studies revealed on August 9.

According to the Center, most residents targeted by the decisions live in the vicinity of the Al-Aqsa Holy Mosque, the Old City, and their surrounding areas.

WAFA also claimed that Israeli troops detained at least six Palestinians across the occupied West Bank late Saturday and early Sunday morning.

Israeli stormings continue unabated

Local and Palestinian security sources reported that occupying troops stormed the town of Shukba and detained two Palestinian young men in Ramallah, as well as an 18-year-old Palestinian in al-Mughayir, northeast of the West Bank city.

After invading his family's home in Jenin, Israeli forces raided the town Kafr Ra'I and detained a young Palestinian.

Israeli forces broke into the Ras Al-Jora area in the occupied West Bank city of Al-Khalil and captured one Palestinian after looting and vandalizing his home.

Another Palestinian was also arrested while he attempted to cross a military checkpoint in the northern West Bank city of Tubas.

Over the past months, the IOF has ramped up attacks on Palestinian towns and cities throughout the occupied territories. As a result of these attacks, dozens of Palestinians have lost their lives, and many others have been arrested.

Palestinian death toll highest in years: UN report

A recent report by the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Palestine shows that the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli Occupation Forces in the occupied territories this year has already exceeded the total death toll for the entirety of 2022.

Israeli forces fatally shot 13 Palestinians in the West Bank between July 25 and August 10, including three children, the report shows.

The report also highlighted a tragic incident on August 4, in which a Palestinian man lost his life during a settler attack on the village of Burqa, east of Ramallah.

Furthermore, the report outlined the increasing injury toll as well, revealing that 276 Palestinians, including at least 60 children, were injured by Israeli forces between July 25 and August 7.
