Israeli spy officials to teach 'Iran Studies' program at school: Ynet
The Israeli news website describes the Iran Studies program, officially known as Security and Research (SR), as "one of the most relevant and innovative programs today."
The new Iran Studies program, launching this school year at Navon High School in Holon, will cover a range of topics, including Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), the 1978 Black Friday incident, the policies of Iranian leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei, and the demographic dynamics between various Islamic sects, highlighted the Israeli news website Yedioth Ahronoth.
According to the report, 15 Israeli students admitted to this program will study the Persian language and immerse in Iranian culture. The curriculum will also include a comprehensive exploration of Israeli security and intelligence matters, such as intelligence gathering, threat identification, counterterrorism strategies, and source evaluation.
The news website described the Iran Studies program, officially known as Security and Research (SR), as "one of the most relevant and innovative programs today."
Yedioth Ahronoth pointed out that Etty Avoda Kazula, the principal of the Navon High School, along with program coordinator Shai Shoshani, "managed to recruit a range of former security experts - including from the Shin Bet, Mossad and Unit 8200 - to serve as instructors."
"The program is designed for outstanding students. They will study information and data analysis, intelligence gathering, and even the Persian language," Kazula said.
"This won’t be like learning English or French in school. We’re teaching 60% of the language and 40% of the culture," she noted.
"We want the students to graduate with a comprehensive set of tools. For us, the program is a flagship one which will ultimately benefit the students," the principal added.
She explained that teaching will be conducted by a school-based instructor specializing in information and intelligence, another who collaborates with the Israeli Security Ministry and the Israeli military to teach Persian, and an additional expert from "Israel’s" intelligence community.
Moreover, regular and guest lectures will be provided by professionals from the Shin Bet, Mossad, and other intelligence agencies.
