An Israeli drone targeted a Rapid-type vehicle in the town of Toul, in the Nabatieh district, injuring one civilian as cross-border attacks persist despite the declared ceasefire, Al Mayadeen’s correspondent in south Lebanon reported Thursday.

According to the correspondent, the strike occurred earlier today, marking yet another escalation in the series of assaults carried out by the Israeli occupation across southern Lebanon.

In a separate incident this morning, an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft dropped a stun grenade over Ras al-Naqoura, causing panic among residents in the coastal border area.

At dawn, Israeli warplanes launched an airstrike on the al-Khanouq area in the town of Aitaroun, firing two air-to-surface missiles near the site of an explosion that had occurred two days earlier, the National News Agency (NNA) reported.

Night time airstrikes devastate south

Less than half an hour later, hostile aircraft carried out another strike on the western outskirts of the town of Tayr Felsay, before returning for a second wave targeting the same area, according to the NNA.

Throughout the night, the skies over the Nabatieh district witnessed heavy activity from Israeli drones flying at low altitude, adding to the atmosphere of tension gripping the region.

The Israeli occupation continues its violations of the November 2024 ceasefire, particularly in border towns adjacent to occupied Palestine, where shelling and incursions persist. Similar attacks have also been recorded in the Beqaa, extending the pattern of ongoing escalation.

Israeli strikes damage sections of Litani River

The Litani River Authority said on Thursday that Israeli air force strikes along the banks of the Litani River caused structural damage to parts of the riverbed near the town of Tayr Filsey, leading to partial blockage in several areas.

According to the Authority’s statement, "As a result of Israeli aggression targeting the banks of the Litani River in the vicinity of the town of Tayr Filsey, accompanied by a series of air strikes, damage to certain sections was recorded, leading to partial blockage and obstruction of the riverbed in some places."

Technical teams have begun field inspections across the affected sections to assess the damage, remove debris, and secure the watercourse in order to prevent potential flooding. The Authority said the work aims to ensure the safety of residential neighborhoods, tourist zones, and surrounding agricultural land that depend on the river.

The teams are coordinating with security forces, Lebanese Army units, municipalities, and relevant organizations to facilitate access to the damaged areas and accelerate recovery efforts, according to the statement.

The Authority confirmed that the strikes did not disrupt water quality or operations at the al-Qasimiyya irrigation project, noting that "The attacks did not affect the water quality in al-Qasimiyya irrigation project, nor did they damage any of its vital facilities, pumping stations, or distribution stations. Irrigation programs continue as usual according to the approved schedules."

Hezbollah's stance

As "Israel" resumes its assault on Lebanon in disregard of its legally binding requirements under the November agreement, the Islamic Resistance Hezbollah issued a firm open letter on Thursday as a response to the ongoing violations.

Formally addressing Lebanon’s top three leaders and people, Hezbollah reaffirmed its commitment to national unity, the protection of Lebanese sovereignty, and the preservation of internal stability. The movement expressed its intention to contribute to building a unified national stance in response to the ongoing Israeli aggression on Lebanon and persistent violations of the ceasefire agreement signed in November 2024.

Hezbollah emphasized that its position aims to thwart renewed efforts to drag Lebanon into indirect negotiations serving only the political and strategic goals of the Zionist entity and its international backers. The statement also underlined the group's continued dedication to resisting foreign pressure and safeguarding national dignity.

Hezbollah stated that while it and the Lebanese government have strictly adhered to the ceasefire, "Israel" continues to violate it by land, air, and sea. According to the group, these ongoing hostilities, combined with political blackmail, reflect the Israeli entity's intent to impose submission on Lebanon and extract concessions from it, in line with its interests in Lebanon and the region, as seen through its intent to annex the West Bank forcibly.
