Over the past 48 hours, Gaza hospitals have received 77 new martyrs, including seven recovered bodies, and 275 injuries, as Israeli airstrikes continue to pound residential areas and vital infrastructure.
The latest wave of aggression has further strained emergency services in the Gaza Strip, where intensified bombardment has left dozens dead and hundreds wounded. Residential zones and civilian sites remain primary targets, pushing the already overwhelmed medical sector to its limits.
The influx of casualties has placed enormous pressure on Gaza’s already crippled healthcare system. Medical personnel are working with severely limited resources amid ongoing airstrikes, which have damaged critical infrastructure and obstructed the delivery of aid.
Since the beginning of the Israeli occupation’s offensive on October 7, 2023, the cumulative toll has reached 52,495 martyrs and 118,366 injuries. The past few weeks alone, since March 18, have seen 2,396 additional martyrs and 6,325 injuries, underscoring the scale and continuity of the violence.
The international community has repeatedly called for an immediate ceasefire to halt the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza. However, the situation on the ground continues to deteriorate as the occupation’s military campaign intensifies.
Four-month-old Palestinian infant killed
A four-month-old Palestinian infant, Jinan al-Sakafi, died earlier today due to severe malnutrition at al-Rantisi Hospital in Gaza City, as the Israeli occupation continues its war and blockade on the Gaza Strip, an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported.
Medical officials at al-Rantisi Hospital confirmed that Jinan died as a result of prolonged malnutrition and the unavailability of baby formula and nutritional supplements, both of which have become scarce due to the siege imposed by the Israeli occupation.
Jinan's mother had spent the past three months pleading with international organizations to facilitate her daughter's transfer abroad for urgent treatment. Those pleas went unanswered, and Jinan was pronounced dead on Saturday.
Al Mayadeen had previously published a report highlighting Jinan's condition, detailing her worsening health due to the lack of adequate nutrition.
Additionally, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that at least 50 Palestinians were killed in the latest wave of Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip within a few hours.
Khan Younis, in the south of the Gaza Strip, witnessed one of the deadliest assaults. Around 19 Palestinians were killed and others injured after the occupation forces bombed civilian homes and tents sheltering displaced individuals.
Israeli warplanes bombed a house in Khan Younis Camp, resulting in the deaths of 11 Palestinians, including women and children.
