Israeli warplanes launch aggression on eastern Lebanon
Israeli forces breech the ceasefire agreement once again and launch five strikes on the Lebanon-Syria border area.
Israeli occupation forces launched an aerial aggression on Lebanon, targeting several areas near Lebanon's eastern border with Syria, early on Friday.
The aggression marks another grave violation of the mediated ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and "Israel", which mandates that the Israeli regime halt its assaults against the country.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that four of the strikes targeted the Jinta Heights in the Anti-Lebanon Mountains, while another strike targeted a track on the Syrian side of the border, opposite the city of Hermel.
Initially signed on November 27, 2024, the agreement had a 60-day limit for the implementation of its clauses, which include the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from Lebanon and the Lebanese Army's deployment in areas south of the Litani River. However, Israeli occupation forces continuously violated the clauses of the agreement and occupied several areas in southern Lebanon up to this day.
After the time limit passed and another agreement to extend the arrangement until February 18, the Israeli occupation has committed multiple violations, including strikes on Nabatiyeh, Yohmor al-Shqif, the Bekaa, and the killing and wounding of Lebanese civilians and Lebanese Army personnel.
