Italy, 'Israel' hold talks on arms industry cooperation
The Israeli occupation is seeking to hold talks on military broadening research and development processes among a series of other security agreements.
Israeli Security Ministry Director-General Amir Eshel met with Italian Defense Ministry Director-General Luciano Portolano in Rome this week, "Tel Aviv" said Tuesday.
The two officials met for talks meant to bolster cooperation within the security industry between the two countries, the Israeli ministry said.
"The meetings focused on cooperation in the fields of procurement, military equipment, broadening research and development processes, strengthening industrial cooperation between countries, and promoting key procurement initiatives," "Tel Aviv's" security ministry said on social media.
Eshel met with his Italian counterpart as well as the Chief of the Defense Staff of Italy, Giuseppe Cavo Dragone on Monday in the Italian capital.
Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi visited the Israeli occupation in mid-June as the EU sought to reduce its reliance on Russian fossil fuel imports.
Mario Draghi, heading on his first Middle East trip since taking office last year, was going to occupied Palestine with the aim of discussing energy and food security during his two-day trip.
Israeli Energy Minister Karine Elharrar and other officials have stated that if “Israel” can deliver gas from occupied Palestinian offshore reserves, which are estimated to be worth nearly 1,000 billion cubic meters, it could help meet EU demand.
