Johnson's Tories recover slightly against Labor despite fiascos
The UK Labor Party's poll rating holds steady, while conservatives recover slightly despite Johnson's recent ethics problems.
The UK's Conservative Party was able to recoup some of its losses against the opposing Labor Party, according to recent opinion polls.
A succession of fiascos by Johnson did not help him or his party's standing, as he was recently embroiled in charges of corruption for exchanging political favors with a refurbishment on his Downing Street flat.
The poll, done by Opinium, said that Labor's poll rating stood at 39%, meaning it was unchanged from December. Meanwhile, Tories were up 2 points to reach 34%.
Johnson, who despite the increase in points for Conservatives, still holds very negative personal ratings amid his corruption charges and his officials' breaches of COVID restrictions.
Johnson had published a letter on Thursday, apologizing to his ethics advisor for failing to provide the text messages on the renovation of his apartment. The Prime Minister's net approval rating, according to the poll, was -24%, which was up from -31% at Christmas.
