Jordan: Ties with 'Israel' to suffer if Al-Aqsa status quo changed
Jordan warns the newly-elected Israeli occupation government of diplomatic tensions in case the status quo of holy sites in Al-Quds, especially the Al-Aqsa Mosque, is changed
Following the election win of the far-right Zionist coalition led by Benjamin Netanyahu of the Likud party, Jordan warned that relations with the Israeli occupation entity will deteriorate if the Al-Aqsa Mosque's status quo is affected.
An anonymous Jordanian source told Israeli media, “Any attempt to change the status quo on the Temple Mount will definitely harm ties between Jordan and 'Israel'."
The main target of the source's warnings was the head of the far-right Otzma Yehudit party Itamar Ben Gvir, who has secured a crucial presence in the new government.

Ben Gvir is one of the most notorious Israeli politicians, as he is infamous for constantly carrying out provocative storming of the Al-Aqsa mosque and rallying illegal Israeli settlers that call for the death of Arabs and Palestinians alike while chanting racist slogans and slurs against Muslims and Arabs.
Since 1924, the Hashemite ruling family of Jordan had been the sole caretakers of the holy sites of both Muslims and Christians, in Eastern Al-Quds, including the Al-Aqsa mosque.
The current state of affairs of the mosque dictates that only Muslims are eligible of attending the holy site to perform prayers, while others may visit without being permitted to pray on-site.
The Islamic Waqf in Al-Quds had condemned numerous times the incursion of Israeli settlers into the holy mosque, describing it as "provocative".

It's noteworthy that the Palestinian Resistance launched a major 11-day battle in May 2021 under the name of Seif al-Quds [Sword of al-Quds], during which the occupation killed at least 260 Palestinians, including 66 children. The battle took place following the violence carried out against Palestinian worshippers in Al-Aqsa mosque and Israeli occupation aggression on the residents of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in an attempt to kick them out and relocate Israeli settlers into Palestinian homes.
