Kashmiris protest 'Israel's' assassination of Sayyed Nasrallah
With heavy hearts, hundreds in Kashmir hold pictures of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, chanting against "Israel" and the US.
Protests erupted Saturday in the Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir region following the news of the assassination of Hezbollah's Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
Hundreds of demonstrators marched through the streets, holding pictures of Sayyed Nasrallah and chanting slogans against "Israel" and the US.
The protests saw a significant turnout of women and children carrying black flags, denouncing the killing of the Lebanese Resistance leader. Demonstrators mourned him, voicing their solidarity with the people of Palestine and Lebanon.

Numerous religious and political leaders across the region expressed deep sorrow over the assassination, with some suspending their election campaigns on Sunday in a symbolic act of protest.
India has been conducting its first local legislative assembly elections in the region since 2014.
Lawmaker Aga Syed Ruhullah, who was campaigning for National Conference party candidates, paused his efforts in response to the assassination. Similarly, Mehbooba Mufti, former chief minister of the region, also suspended her party's election activities for the day.
"Cancelling my campaign tomorrow in solidarity with the martyrs of Lebanon & Gaza, especially Hassan Nasrallah. We stand with the people of Palestine and Lebanon in this hour of immense grief and exemplary resistance," Mufti posted on X.

Similarly, Lok Sabha member from Srinagar, Aga Ruhullah Mehdi, who was canvassing for National Conference candidates, announced on X that he was also calling off his campaign to honor Nasrallah's legacy.
Hezbollah released a statement on Saturday announcing the martyrdom of its Secretary-General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
The Islamic Resistance began its statement with the verse: "Let those fight in the way of Allah, who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter; and whoever fights in the way of Allah, and then is slain, or he subdues [the enemy], soon We shall give him a great reward." [Surah al-Nisa', verse 74]
"His eminence, the leader of the Resistance, the pious servant of God, has passed on to God as a great leader, a brave martyr, joining the martyrs of Karbala...on the path of prophets," the statement read.
