Khatibzadeh: The UN Special Rapporteur on Iran is biased
Iran slams the accusations of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Iran's affairs, Javaid Rehman, as "malicious".
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh responded to the recent report of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Iran, Javaid Rehman, who accused Iran of executing at least 280 people in 2021.
Khatibzadeh stressed that Iran rejects the biased account, full of biased and incorrect conclusions, adding that a political and selective approach to human rights does not strengthen their existence, but rather eliminates and undermines them.
The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson refuted the Rapporteur's false accusations and allegations and said they are based on misleading information received by biased sources, including terrorist groups.
He expressed that Iran has always expressed its views regarding the UN report, but unfortunately, the sincere approach taken by Iran was ignored.
He pointed out that Iran condemns unilateral coercive measures and considers the actions of the Special Rapporteur as evidence of his lack of impartiality.
Khatibzadeh highlighted the double standards of Western countries toward human rights, stressing that his country's commitment is to support and promote human rights in Iran in the world.
