Khorasan bids Pres. Raisi farewell in ceremony attended by millions
The funeral procession for the late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has commenced in Khorasan, northeastern Iran, with the participation of millions of Iranians.
The funeral procession for the late President Ebrahim Raisi has commenced today in the city of Birjand, the capital of South Khorasan Province.
Before being led to his final resting place, the Khorasan Province marked the last stop of the funeral ceremony, which started from Tabriz and then moved to Qom and Tehran.

The body of the Iranian president has been transported to the final stop of the funeral ceremony in Birjand, the capital of Khorasan Province, before he is buried in the Imam Reza shrine in Mashhad.
Millions of Iranians and others who traveled to Iran from various countries have been taking part in the funeral ceremony which has been going on for two days.

Amir-Abdollahian laid to rest
Meanwhile, the body of the late Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian was buried in the Shah Abdol-Azim shrine in Rey City of Tehran Province.

The funeral ceremony of Amir-Abdollahian was held in Mashgh Square, Tehran, in the presence of his family and many Iranian officials.
Mohammad Javad Zarif, former minister of Foreign Affairs, Peyman Jebali, head of the IRIB, Mohammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization, Ali Bagheri, Zahra Mostafavi, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, Iraj Masjedi, Yahya Rahim Safavi, Ali Larijani, Abbas Araghchi, Mehdi Chamran were among the attendees of this ceremony.
It should be noted that the body of Martyred Hossein Amir-Abdollahian was transferred to Mashhad last night to visit the holy shrine of Imam Reza for the last time.
Earlier on Thursday morning, a farewell ceremony was also held for Amir-Abdollahian at the headquarters of the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

The Iranian capital, Tehran, bid farewell to Sayyed Ebrahim Raisi, his Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and their companions, in attendance of officials and crowds of Iranian people who headed en masse to the capital to take part in the funeral services on May 22.
As part of the funeral ceremony, the leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Republic Sayyed Ali Khamenei led the prayers over the bodies at the University of Tehran.
The bodies of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and their companions arrived on May 21 at the Imam Khomeini Mosque in Tehran.
The Iranian city of Qom mourned Raisi and his companions in a solemn procession, recognizing their efforts and expressing grief over their loss.
The first stop in Qom was the Fatima Masumeh Shrine, where millions of people gathered in wait since the early morning hours for the arrival of their bodies.
The funeral procession then proceeded through the streets of the city of Qom, arriving at the Jamkaran Mosque.
The city of Tabriz, the capital of Iran's East Azerbaijan Province, bid farewell on May 21 to President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and their companions.
At the first funeral procession stop, hundreds of thousands of Iranians gathered to bid farewell to the bodies of the deceased.
Delegations, officials arrived in Tehran for Raisi's funeral
Country delegations and officials, regionally and from all over the globe, headed to Tehran, Iran, to attend the funeral service of the late President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who passed away on May 20 in a deadly helicopter crash, alongside several of their companions.
The foreign ministers of Bahrain, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Saudi Arabia, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, and Kuwait, Abdullah Ali al-Yahya, arrived in Tehran to offer their condolences on May 22.
Tunisian President Kais Saied was also received by the leader of the Islamic Revolution Sayyed Ali Khamenei, and expressed his sympathies towards the Iranian nation's government and people.
The head of Hamas' Political Bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, also arrived in Tehran to extend his condolences on behalf of the people of Palestine and the Resistance factions.
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani offered Sayyed Khamenei his condolences on behalf of his government and people, saying Iraq has only seen "honesty, sincerity, a strong work ethic, and a strive to serve the people, from martyr Raisi."
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan were also received by Sayyed Ali Khamenei and expressed their condolences.
Attending the funeral ceremony in Tehran were also the chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin and Indian Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar with an accompanying delegation, as well as the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
An Algerian delegation also headed to Tehran on behalf of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and included Laid Rebigua, the minister of Mujahideen and Algerian Rights Holders, and parliament speaker Ibrahim Boughali.
Moreover, the speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, arrived in Tehran for the funeral ceremony of the departed Iranian officials.
Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry arrived in Tehran as well. Shoukry's visit marks the first time an Egyptian foreign minister has set foot in Iran since 1980 when Egypt and Iran severed all ties following the Islamic Revolution and Egypt's official recognition of the Israeli occupation.
