The Russian Defense Ministry further reported on Sunday that Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed two Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the northwestern Novgorod Region.

"On March 10, at about 3:30 p.m. Moscow time (12:30 GMT), an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack using airplane-type UAVs against objects on Russian territory was thwarted. Two Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed by air defense systems on duty over the territory of the Novgorod Region," the ministry said.

Novgorod Region Governor Andrei Nikitin stated on Telegram that the incident resulted in no casualties or damage. He also mentioned that regional authorities were coordinating with security forces and the police.
