Komodo 2025 naval exercises launch see Russia, China, US participation
The drills were officially launched after heads of participating delegations and Indonesian officials signed plaques bearing their names.

International naval exercises, dubbed Komodo 2025, have commenced on the Indonesian island of Bali, with participation from over 30 countries, including Russia, the United States, and China.
Komodo is a non-military exercise prioritizing regional naval cooperation, disaster management, and humanitarian operations for strengthening partnerships between the Indonesian navy and friendly nations.
The multinational maritime exercise has been held every two years since 2014.

Indonesian Navy Chief of Staff Muhammad Ali stated that the Komodo naval exercise will focus on humanitarian operations, disaster relief, and emergency response, both on land and at sea.

Earlier, a detachment from Russia’s Pacific Fleet, including the frigates Rezkiy and Hero of Russia Aldar Tsydenzhapov, accompanied by the medium sea tanker Pechenga, arrived in the waters off Bali to take part in the international exercises.
In early February, Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Sergei Tolchenov told RIA Novosti, "We expect bilateral working contacts to take place at the command level of the naval forces of both countries."
