Kremlin condemns assassination of Sayyed Nasrallah
Kremlin's spokesperson condemned the assassination of Sayyed Nasrallah, saying "Israel's" actions "have led to a significant destabilization of the situation in the region."
At a press briefing on Monday, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov condemned the recent assassination of Hezbollah leader, martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, stating that his death alone has increased the risk of a major Middle East war to "extremely high" levels.
According to Peskov, "The Russian side condemns such actions, we believe that they have led to a significant destabilization of the situation in the region."
"The main thing is that such indiscriminate bombing of residential areas in Lebanon leads to a huge number of human casualties, which will inevitably bring on a humanitarian catastrophe like the one we are seeing in Gaza," he added, further voicing Moscow's "deepest concern".
"Israel's" escalating aggression on Lebanon has heightened global fears of a broader Middle East conflict, with some speculating a potential intervention from Iran.
Martyr Sayyed Nasrallah's assassination has sparked a global wave of condemnation, with numerous protests held across the region, including in Jordan, the West Bank, Morocco, and major cities in Indian-administered Kashmir.
Protesters in Pakistan have also staged multiple demonstrations, some of which were met with tear gas as clashes erupted between demonstrators and the police.
Hezbollah set for long battle
Earlier today, Hezbollah's new Secretary General, Sheikh Naim Qassem, delivered a message expressing the party's continued resolve to fight against Israeli terrorism.
He also mentioned that Hezbollah "is ready to confront any possibility if Israel decides to enter by land, and we are ready to engage the enemy if it decides to invade."
"We are well-prepared and confident that the Israeli enemy will not achieve its objectives, and we will emerge victorious," he said.
"The actions of the party are merely the minimum required as part of our strategy to sustain the battle, aligned with the assessments and plans established based on the needs of the situation on the ground," he added.

A day following Sayyed Nasrallah's martyrdom, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov condemned the act as a political assassination and further criticized the US for its consistent attitude toward such events.
"Remember how Hillary Clinton, when they showed live broadcast of Muammar Gaddafi covered in blood, was delighted and laughed, looking at the screen. Or Madeleine Albright, who, commenting on the processes started by the American aggression against Iraq, said: well, yes, 400 thousand died, but it was worth it, democracy was worth it," Lavrov said.
The Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement urging "Israel" to halt hostilities in Lebanon immediately, Lavrov noted.
