Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets in two of Pakistan's major cities on Sunday condemning the Israeli assassination of Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, in an Israeli airstrike on Beirut's Southern Suburb.
Approximately 4,000 people gathered in Islamabad and another 3,000 in Karachi to participate in rallies and funeral prayers.

Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticized "Israel," labeling Sayyed Nasrallah's assassination as a "major escalation" in an already tense region.
"Yesterday's reckless act of killing the Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon constitutes a major escalation in an already volatile region," the statement read.

Imran Khan condemns 'Israel'
In a post on X, Pakistan's imprisoned former prime minister, Imran Khan, strongly condemned "Israel's" war crimes in Palestine and Lebanon, as well as the Western countries supplying weapons that enable these actions.
He highlighted the global failure to prevent the expansion of the conflict and criticized the breakdown of international law and justice.
Khan also draws parallels between Israeli actions and India's policies in Kashmir, asserting that human rights and democracy are being systematically undermined worldwide.
He called on the global community, especially the Muslim community, to move beyond rhetoric and take action against Israeli "state terrorism".
