Kuwait government resigns over disagreements with Assembly: Reports
The Kuwaiti government submits its resignation in the wake of the recent crisis with the National Assembly against the backdrop of popular laws.
Kuwait's government submitted Monday its resignation due to disagreements with the National Assembly, Kuwaiti media reported.
Al Qabas newspaper said on Sunday, citing sources, that the decision came after the government refused to make any pledges to the Kuwaiti National Assembly regarding popular laws.
According to the newspaper, the government submitted its resignation to the political leadership in the wake of the recent crisis with the National Assembly against the backdrop of popular laws, as well as the two interpellations directed at Finance Minister Abdul Wahhab Al-Rashid and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Barak Al-Shitan.
This marks Kuwait’s fifth collective government resignation in just two years.
