Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, said on Tuesday that Tehran has not conveyed any new message to the United States, emphasizing that Iran’s diplomatic position on lifting sanctions remains unchanged. His remarks came in response to reports suggesting renewed indirect contacts between the two sides.
In a post on X, Larijani wrote in English: "No new message has been conveyed to the United States; however, it is clear that Iran has consistently pursued the lifting of sanctions." He questioned claims that Tehran seeks to maintain the current measures, saying, "Can anyone claim that we desire sanctions? All the government’s objectives and diplomatic efforts are focused on ending them."
Larijani added that the reason no new communication has been made is that prior rounds of negotiations had already taken place without progress, stating: "The reason no new message has been sent is that previous negotiations had already taken place, and the other side showed no willingness to reach an agreement."

The reason no new…
The official underlined that Tehran’s position remains centered on ending the sanctions regime and restoring economic stability, while pointing to Washington’s lack of readiness to finalize understandings reached in earlier phases of dialogue.
Iran received proposal to resume talks
A proposal to resume talks on the Iranian nuclear program has been received by the Iranian Foreign Ministry, government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani confirmed earlier in the month.
"The [Iranian] Foreign Ministry has received messages containing a proposal to resume talks on the Iranian nuclear issue," the spokesperson stated, noting that the details of the proposal will be revealed in due course.
On Friday, Iraqi news agency Baghdad Al-Youm reported that the United States had sent a message to Iran via Oman proposing a resumption of the dialogue, which was suspended this summer, although this information was later refuted by several media outlets, including the agency itself.
Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian vowed to rebuild Iran's nuclear program in a statement published on Sunday.
According to a quote from his administration's Telegram channel, Pezeshkian stated, "Scientific knowledge is preserved in the minds of our scientists, so by destroying nuclear facilities and factories, [the US] will not create problems for Tehran."
