Lavrov Supports Decision to Withdraw Foreign Military Forces from Libya

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said today, Thursday, that the visit of Libyan Minister of National Unity Najla el-Mangoush shows Moscow's readiness to expand relations with Libya.
In a joint press conference with his Libyan counterpart in Moscow, Lavrov expressed gratitude for the Libyan leader's visit to Russia, adding that it illustrates the desire to strengthen ties with Russia.
Lavrov added that Russia supports the decision on the need to withdraw all foreign military forces from Libyan territory.
El-Mangoush affirmed that Russian relations are to be consolidated positively, noting that previous agreements have been made to advance the economy and development of both countries.
The Libyan Minister added that Libya appreciates the Russian role in preparing to help to get the mercenaries out of Libya, stressing that Libya is counting on Russia's role in unifying the military institution and supporting the Libyan government institutions.
El- Mangoush also highlighted that efforts were being taken to open the Russian embassy in Tripoli and the consulate in Benghazi.
