Daniella Weiss, leader of the Nachala settlement movement, called for the "settlement of Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria" on Thursday, noting that a broad plan is in place to do that in an interview with the Israeli Channel 14.
The co-founder of the far-right settlement group said that this should be the "goal of the next phase," emphasizing that "There is nothing in Zionism but settlement, its foundation is settlement, in the Galilee, in 'Judea and Samaria' [occupied West Bank], and in the Golan."
The Nachala movement is an extremist settler movement established in 2005, which aims to help young Israeli settlers build outposts in the occupied West Bank and repeatedly advocated for re-establishing Israeli settlements in Gaza.
Daniella Weiss eyes Gaza
Daniella Weiss has had eyes on Gaza ever since the war started on October 7, advocating for building settlements inside of the Strip and occupying it as well as the West Bank, and calling for the forced displacement of Palestinians.
Israeli soldiers allegedly assisted Daniella Weiss in illegally entering Gaza on November 13, bypassing military protocols to assess potential sites for Israeli settlements, according to reports by the Kan public broadcaster in November 2024.
Weiss allegedly contacted familiar soldiers who dispatched a vehicle to transport her and her group to the site of Netzarim, a former settlement dismantled in 2005 following Israel's withdrawal from Gaza, where they surveyed exiting through an unofficial route to evade security forces, with the entire incident reportedly occurring without the knowledge or approval of senior military officials.
The founder of the Nachala movement advocated for the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza in October 2024, claiming that the Palestinians "lost their right" to reside in the Strip after the al-Aqsa Flood Operation, at an event calling for the reoccupation of Gaza attended by former minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.
She emphasized that her movement had already organized six "settlement groups" comprising 700 families "ready right now" to establish new settlements in the Gaza Strip, stating that soon, these families would be able to enjoy the Gaza coast.
