A senior source in the Lebanese Army Forces (LAF) told Al Mayadeen on Thursday that several Lebanese Force (LF) party members have been arrested today, as they are suspected to have participated in today's shooting against unarmed protestors.
The source confirmed that 8 people from LF, a right-wing political party, have been arrested so far, noting that some of them admitted to planning today's shooting.
The LAF tweeted that 9 people, including a Syrian national, have been arrested after the violence that erupted in Beirut earlier today.
The army announced that it would continue its deployment in the area where the ambush took place, to assure that no further conflicts ignite.
