Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the renewed Israeli aggression targeting civilian areas in South Lebanon, describing the attacks as unjustified and alarming.

"Once again, South Lebanon is under the fire of Israeli aggression against civilian facilities, without justification or even excuse," President Aoun said on Saturday.

He warned that the timing of the escalation raises serious concerns, noting that the danger lies in the fact that these attacks follow the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. "This poses challenges for us as Lebanese, and for the international community," he added.

President Aoun also questioned the motives behind the renewed aggression, suggesting it could be politically motivated. "The question is whether some are considering making up for Gaza in Lebanon to secure the need for continued political profiteering through fire and bloodshed."

The comments come amid increasing tensions along Lebanon’s southern towns, where Israeli strikes have continued to target infrastructure and civilian areas, not to mention killing civilians in the months since the ceasefire.

On Saturday at dawn, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in southern Lebanon reported that one individual was martyred and five others sustained injuries as a result of the latest wave of Israeli attacks targeting the area between Musaylih and al-Najariya.

The Israeli raids specifically targeted excavation equipment and bulldozers operating in the area, as part of "Israel's" continued attempts to hinder any reconstruction efforts in the South.
