Four Lebanese detainees captured during the Israeli war on Lebanon were released on Tuesday, with a fifth set to be freed on Wednesday.
The four freed detainees were released through the Ras al-Naqoura crossing, after being captured in the past three months, and the Lebanese Red Cross received them and transported them to the Lebanese-Italian Hospital in Tyre.
The five detainees were arrested by Israeli forces in January and February of this year, making their capture a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement, and their release was secured following a meeting of the committee overseeing the agreement’s implementation in Ras al-Naqoura earlier today.
"Israel" has repeatedly violated the ceasefire deal in Lebanon, conducting airstrikes in various parts of Lebanon, including north of the Litani river, and most recently capturing a Lebanese Army soldier.
Lebanon ceasefire violated by 'Israel'
The Lebanese Armed Forces announced on March 10 that one of its soldiers, who was dressed in civilian clothing, had been captured by the Israeli Occupation Forces after contact with him was lost.
Investigations later revealed that Israeli troops had opened fire on him in the outskirts of Kfashouba, wounding him before taking him into custody and transporting him to occupied Palestinian territories on March 9, according to a statement released by the Lebanese Army.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health stated on March 11 that a drone strike targeted an SUV on the Deir al-Zahrani-Upper Houmin road, resulting in the death of one person, while Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that another drone carried out two strikes on a vehicle in a valley near Srifa, killing one person.
In the same shooting incident on March 9, Israeli soldiers opened fire on a group of civilians near the Fatima Gate in Kfarkila, resulting in the death of one Lebanese soldier and the injury of two others.
On March 7, Israeli jets carried out 28 airstrikes targeting multiple areas in southern Lebanon, including Wadi Zibqin, the area between Aita al-Shaab and Beit Yahoun, the outskirts of al-Ayshieh, a valley between Ansar and Zrariyeh, and Tibna.
