Liberation of al-Quds central cause for Iran, Raisi says
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi underlines that no sanctions, terrorist attacks, or threats would work in pushing Iran away from the Palestinian cause.
The liberation of occupied al-Quds is the top priority of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stressed Thursday.
"Any weakness or security breach in any Islamic country affects us all," he stressed during an iftar hosted by Tehran for the foreign ambassadors in Iran.
He went on to reiterate Iran's support for "the resistance movement in the region and in all Islamic countries that are defending their homeland."
The Zionist regime, he underlined, has not yet achieved its goals "in the face of a resistance force that has nothing but a will of steel."
Regarding the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, President Raisi stressed that the attack and the occupation's crimes in Gaza "of killing and genocide are a sign of failure and defeat, not a sign of strength."
Addressing the "enemies of Iran," Raisi said they could not halt its support for the Resistance and the Palestinian cause through sanctions, stressing that they were in the wrong.
President Raisi concluded by emphasizing that "the US is the unjust supporter of Israel, and the world today hates them more than ever before."
Israeli occupation helpless: Raisi
Speaking during the al-Quds Platform Day, two days prior to the al-Quds Day, which is commemorated on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, Raisi said that "the historic operations carried out by the Palestinians have rendered the criminal occupation army helpless."
"It has become clear to everyone today that this entity is weaker than a cobweb," Raisi said.
The Iranian president noted that "human rights advocates in the West have remained silent while participating in the American government's open and covert crimes [against the Palestinians]," noting that "the world will never be the same as before" and that "no one can save the face of the Zionist entity that was defeated in Operation Al-Aqsa Flood."
"This entity is closer today than ever before to internal collapse," Raisi said, noting that "the demonstrations in the region and the world have essentially formed a media siege on it," Raisi added.
The Iranian president addressed the terrorist attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, emphasizing that it "will not remain unanswered" and that it "is the epitome of the failure and loss of this entity."
The commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolution Guard Corps' Quds Force in Lebanon and Syria, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, was killed in an Israeli attack that targeted the Iranian consulate in Syria in the al-Mazzeh neighborhood, Damascus, Syria, on Monday afternoon, Syrian and Iranian state media reported.
Iranian state television confirmed that the aggression targeted the Iranian consulate building and the residence of the Iranian ambassador in Damascus. It later confirmed that the Quds Force Commander in Lebanon and Syria was killed in the attack.
