Maduro reaffirms solidarity with Palestine, Warns of regional plots
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro expressed unwavering support for Palestine, condemned Israeli occupation crimes, and warned of an escalating Israeli aggression targeting Arab nations.
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro affirmed that all of Venezuela stands with Palestine, stressing that the day will come when "we will meet in the streets of al-Quds as victors."
Speaking at the Global Conference for Solidarity with Palestine, Maduro stated that among the humanitarian causes striving for a just world, the Palestinian cause, including the Palestinians' right to independence, peace, and a full, fair, independent state, holds a central place. He emphasized that Palestine is the cause that unites humanity.
Maduro called for greater efforts in support of Palestine, warning Islamic nations and the Arab world to be vigilant against "deceptive diplomacy," which he said is often followed by missiles.
The Venezuelan president condemned the Israeli aggression on Lebanon, which resulted in tens of thousands of martyrs and wounded. He described "Israel’s actions as heinous crimes that shock the conscience of humanity, urging people not to believe the Israeli narrative or the Zionist criminals who act with impunity.
While welcoming the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, Maduro cautioned against complacency, stating, "Notice how the Zionists signed the agreement and then turned to Syria, launching attacks through the terrorist groups they sponsor, which are now attempting to take control of Aleppo."
He warned that "the Zionists and their supporters aim to invade, crush the Arab people, and seize the wealth of the Arab nations," cautioning that today it is Palestine and Lebanon, but tomorrow it could be Syria, Iraq, and Jordan.
Terrorist attack on Aleppo, countryside serves 'Israel': Syrian FM
Syrian Foreign Minister Bassam Sabbagh stated that the terrorist attack carried out by large numbers of militants since early Wednesday on the city of Aleppo and its countryside serves "the objectives of the Israeli occupation entity and its sponsors."
Sabbagh emphasized that Syria has consistently warned of the clear coordination between the Israeli assaults and the offensives launched by terrorist groups against the country.
Meanwhile, the Turkish Foreign Ministry claimed on Friday that Ankara "is fulfilling its commitments under the agreement on the de-escalation zone in Idlib. The ministry added that Turkey "attaches great importance to Syria’s territorial integrity and sovereignty."
It further noted that "it is crucial for Turkey to avoid another situation of instability and to prevent harm to civilians," highlighting that the recent clashes in northern Syria, following attacks on Syrian army positions in the Idlib and Aleppo countryside, "have led to an undesirable escalation of tensions in the region."
