Mahsa Amini's cause of death was illness: Legal Medicine Organization
The forensic report details Amini's medical history and the reasons which caused her to faint while at the police station.
Iran's Legal Medicine Organization on Friday confirmed that Mahsa Amini's cause of death was not direct blows to the head and other vital organs but rather from complications she endured as a result of a craniopharyngioma surgery at the age of eight.
Many claimed that the 22-year-old Iranian woman's death while under police custody was the result of severe beatings inflicted on her despite that no traces of beating or wounds on the head and face were detected.
"As per hospital documents, the study of CT scans of the brain and lungs, results of physical examination of the body and an autopsy, and pathological tests, the death of the individual was not caused by blows to her head, vital organs and limbs," the report said.
At the young age of eight, Amini had undergone a craniopharyngioma surgery which caused several disorders to occur in the hypothalamus and hypophysis glands of the brain.
The report adds that Amini was prescribed hydrocortisone, levothyroxine, and desmopressin to treat her complications.
On September 13, Amini fainted while at the police station, which resulted in a heartbeat interruption and blood pressure decrease due to difficulties for her body adjusting to new conditions.
The CPR failure resulted in severe brain hypoxia and later led to multiple organ failures while at Kasra Hospital on September 16.
The protests over her death initially began in her native province of Kordestan and later spread to several cities, including Tehran.
Despite that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi ordered an immediate and thorough investigation into the case, the riots soon turned violent as protesters engaged in various acts of vandalism and terror by burning the Quran, mosques, banks, and people's cars, and pulling off women’s scarves.
Iranophobia has been on the rise since western media violently dehumanized Iran's reputation after accusing it of an incident it wasn't responsible for: the death of Mahsa Amini.
The manipulation of human rights in Western media has long been used to push for an agenda of regime change, and the demonization of Iran is built on narratives of human rights violations.
On October 2, a spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament Nizamuddin Mousavi said that some 45,000 people from foreign organizations, intelligence services, and terrorist groups formed networks across the country, some of whom have been arrested.
On October 3rd, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, accused the US and "Israel" of planning and standing behind the riots. “I say explicitly that these riots and this insecurity were a design by the US and the occupying, fake Zionist regime [Israel] and those who are paid by them, and some traitorous Iranians abroad helped them,” Khamenei told the graduating cadets at a police university in Tehran.
Meanwhile, Iran is pushing ahead to further its diplomatic ties with regional powers as President Ebrahim Raisi stated on Tuesday that Iran is ready to use its diverse and effective capacities to solve regional and global issues.
