US, 'Israel' behind riots in Iran: Khamenei
The family of Mahsa Amini joins the Iranian Shura Council to deliver their point of view to be considered before the investigation results.
The leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, delivered a speech today Monday during a ceremony for the joint graduation of cadets at a police university in Tehran.
On the occasion, Sayyed Khamenei shed light on the anti-government riots that took place following Mahsa Amini's death.
"The young girl’s death was a bitter incident that saddened us too," Iran's leader stated, adding that "the right reaction to it was not for some to create insecurity for people, burn the Quran, mosques, banks, and people's cars, and to pull off women’s scarves," describing the immediate reaction without waiting for the investigations as not normal.
The leader then explicitly accused the US and 'Israel' of planning and standing behind the riots. “I say explicitly that these riots and this insecurity were a design by the US and the occupying, fake Zionist regime [Israel] and those who are paid by them, and some traitorous Iranians abroad helped them,” Khamenei told the graduating cadets at a police university in Tehran.

"The incidents we have witnessed in recent days have caused injustice to the police forces more than any other party, and the mobilization forces have been wronged in this incident as well, so were the Iranian people," he said.
Sayyed Khamenei stressed that "the people appeared strong during this incident, as they did during other incidents. As usual, Iranians were very strong, as they were in the past, and as they will remain in the future," adding, "Wherever the enemies want to cause disorder, it is the brave and loyal Iranian people who protect the country and will have the greatest impact."
Sayyed Khamenei questioned why the US administration, officials, and media don't support rioters in other countries, stating that riots take place all over the world citing France as an example, yet never in history did the US announce backing them.

"Do the Americans announce that they will provide the rioters with internet hardware or software to make communication easier for them," Sayyed Khamenei asked. "Well, this (support) has happened repeatedly in Iran, so how can a reasonable person not realize that there are other hands behind these events," he asked.
The leader added that Iran has advanced despite sanctions and Western conspiracies, which were the reason why foreign governments attempt to destabilize the country as they "feel that the country is progressing toward full-scale power and they can’t tolerate this."
Mahsa Amini's family took part in the Shura Council meeting in Iran
On the other hand, the chairman of the Internal Affairs Committee of the Iranian Shura Council, Mohammad Saleh Jokar, said in a statement to the official IRNA news agency that the Shura Council invited the family of Mahsa Amini to present their point of view to the council so that the committees could reach a final conclusion and announce it to the Iranian people.
He told the agency that "the Internal Affairs Commission received a full report on the death of Mahsa Amini from the police commander and the coroner, and emergency officials also submitted their observations to the Internal Affairs Commission of the state and the councils, in addition to a 33-minute video clip about the late Amini from the time of her arrest until her arrival at the police station and after being sent to the hospital, and was carefully reviewed by the Internal Affairs Commission."
The head of the Internal Affairs Committee of the Iranian Shura Council noted that the government and parliament are following the case of Mahsa Amini in a very serious manner, calling on citizens to remain calm and not be influenced by the negative propaganda of opponents of the government and foreign media.
