Major country stops selling simple ammo to 'Israel': Israeli media
Israeli media report the Israeli security and military establishment's concern about the possibility of a shortage of ammunition.
A major foreign country, other than the United States, has since October 7 refused to supply "Israel" with raw materials from which ammunition can be manufactured, the Israeli news website Calcalist revealed on Tuesday.
Touching on the increasing number of countries that have stopped selling "simple" ammunition to "Israel" amid the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip, the website mentioned that the unnamed country joins Italy, Canada, and Belgium, which have announced the cessation of defense exports to "Israel", in addition to Spain, which complicated the arrival of a large arms shipment from India.
The Calcalist reported the Israeli security and military establishment's concern about the possibility of a shortage of ammunition.
The New York Times has previously highlighted that the Israeli occupation military is facing a shortage of 120mm shells for tanks to such an extent that some of the tanks stationed in Gaza are now on partial alert and carry a smaller amount of shells.
Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin said in May that "Israel" was prepared to "stand alone" in its war on Gaza after Washington threatened to stop supplying some weapons if an attack on the city of Rafah goes ahead.
A month later, Netanyahu claimed in June that President Joe Biden's administration has been "withholding weapons and ammunitions" from "Israel" in recent months.
His statement prompted a response from the White House, whose Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters that "we genuinely do not know what he's talking about."
With the exception of "one particular shipment of munitions," Jean-Pierre said, "There are no other pauses. None."
She was referring to a shipment of 2,000-pound bombs that Washington has said is under review because of concerns about their use in densely populated areas in the Gaza Strip.
In May, the Israeli KAN channel pointed to a serious shortage of ammunition for the Israeli occupation forces due to their war on the Gaza Strip and simultaneous confrontations with the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, in the north of occupied Palestine.
Contributing to "Israel's" ammunition crisis is the naval blockade imposed by the Yemeni Armed Forces through their ongoing military operations in the Red Sea in support of Gaza.
Nachshon Tsuk, the deputy head of the so-called local authority in occupied Haifa, previously estimated that the Yemeni blockade complicates the entry of ammunition into "Israel".
