Mandatory conscription personnel granted amnesty in Syria
The Joint Operations Administration in Syria calls on citizens to "cooperate and report any violation of the curfew."
The Joint Operations Administration in Syria announced on Monday, a general amnesty for "all military personnel conscripted under compulsory service," stressing the prevention of attacks against them.
A curfew has also been implemented in Damascus and its countryside, Latakia, and Tartous from 5 pm until 5 am, warning of being subject to the penalty of imprisonment for a month for violating the law.
Those excluded from the curfew are the "National Defense, Fire Department, doctors, medical staff, ambulance, and internal security forces."
The Operations Administration called on citizens to "cooperate and report any violation of the curfew and send details."
Earlier on Monday, the administration announced that its forces are close to completing the control of the capital, Damascus, and preserving public property.
It confirmed in a statement that "the new government will begin its work immediately after its formation."
Meanwhile, media sources reported the selection of Mohammad al-Bashir, the head of the Salvation Government affiliated with the opposition, to lead a new Syrian government to oversee the transitional phase.
The administration urged the public to "disregard false reports claiming the existence of underground or hidden prisons," emphasizing that "all prisons in Syria have been fully opened."
It also announced the arrest of some people who were inciting sectarianism among the crowds and threatening citizens and minorities, vowing to deal firmly with "any attempts to sow discord or issue threats, as the homeland belongs to everyone, and we will preserve its unity and the security of its citizens."
Syria central bank says depositors' funds at local banks 'safe'
In a related context, Syria's central bank said Monday that depositors' cash in the country's lenders was "safe" after the city was seized and chaos around certain state institutions spread.
According to a statement on the official Facebook page, citizens were reassured that "their deposits and funds at these banks are safe and have not been and will not be harmed."

AFP showed footage Sunday of fighters racing to halt looters at the central bank as the capital fell, shooting into the air to disperse them and drive them away from the building.
