Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi, commander of the Iran Air Force, announced Sunday that several countries are interested in obtaining the domestically developed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) produced by Iranian military experts.

During his visit to the Shahid Yasini Tactical Air Base in the southern port city of Bushehr, Vahedi emphasized that the Iran Air Force and other branches of the Iranian Armed Forces have successfully developed a diverse range of drones with varying operational capabilities.

The brigadier general underscored the substantial advancements Iran's military industries achieved since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.

Iran's military officials have reiterated that a number of Western countries have approached the Iranian military department with a desire to acquire Iranian combat drones.

According to Press TV, Iran showcased in January its strategic combat, reconnaissance, destruction, and radar drones. The UAVs, including the strategic multi-purpose Ababil-4 and Ababil-5 drones, were designed and manufactured by the Iranian Defense Ministry in cooperation with the Iranian Army, despite facing Western sanctions.

Additionally, the UAVs included Arash and Bavar drones, designed for destruction and precision-strike missions, as well as Karrar, a jet-powered drone capable of performing a range of target, combat, and aerial interception missions.

The upgraded Iranian drones are equipped with self-protection, anti-electronic warfare, and indigenous navigation systems, along with smart precision-strike weapons. They also enjoy modern capabilities for integration with other weapon systems and network-based operations.
