Marandi to Al Mayadeen: US, EU growing increasingly realistic
Nonetheless, Marandi noted that it's still too soon to say whether or not there will be a deal as it's up to the West to commit to the conditions.
The advisor to Iran's delegation to the Vienna talks, Dr. Mohammad Marandi, told Al Mayadeen that it would be right to say today that the US and EU have grown increasingly realistic.
Marandi added that it's still too soon to say whether or not there will be a deal as it's up to the other side. If they want a deal then there can be one within a few weeks, because it's up to their willingness to fully implement the deal, accept verification measures, and provide a commitment not to breach it again.
Talks between Iran and the P4+1 have entered their eighth round in Vienna, as news has emerged that the parties are close to reaching a final deal.

Talks moving onward
The negotiations are moving onward, a European delegate told IRNA on the condition of anonymity. "No important progress is being made, but the trend of the talks is positive, and the parties to the talks are making their best efforts to reach a final agreement," the official added.
Chief Chinese delegate Wang Qun said Thursday, following the negotiation session, that the talks were moving onward.
Russian delegate Mikhail Ulyanov saw there was a possibility of reaching a final agreement before February to revive the 2015 nuclear deal. He assured that all parties admit that the talks are moving onward.
Chinese envoy to the UN, Wang Qun, also said that the talks are moving forward.
If the talks succeed, then the JCPOA, which was signed in 2015 by Iran and the P4+1, will be effectively revived after the former Trump-led US administration withdrew from it, imposing strict sanctions on Iran.
