The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported on Sunday three Palestinian martyrs and two injuries during the past 24 hours as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
According to the ministry, two of the martyrs were newly martyred, while the third was recovered from beneath the rubble. Rescue and medical teams continue to face major obstacles in reaching victims trapped under debris or left on roads due to continued bombardment and unsafe conditions.
Since the ceasefire agreement came into effect on October 11, 2025, the total number of martyrs has risen to 356, with 908 others wounded, and 607 bodies retrieved from under rubble.
The overall toll since the beginning of the aggression on October 7, 2023, now stands at:
- 70,103 martyrs
- 170,985 injured
Breakdown of eye care services
In a related statement, the Ministry of Health highlighted the severe collapse of eye care services across Gaza. The destruction of diagnostic and surgical equipment has made it nearly impossible to carry out eye surgeries, significantly increasing waiting times.
Medication reserves for eye treatments are said to be critically low and insufficient to meet emergency needs, while the shortage of specialized eye medications has worsened both acute and chronic conditions, placing thousands at heightened risk.
The Ministry noted that 4,000 glaucoma patients are now facing the threat of permanent blindness due to the lack of medication and the limited availability of surgical procedures.
Additionally, the Ministry of Health issued an urgent appeal to all relevant international and humanitarian organizations to intervene immediately and facilitate the entry of diagnostic equipment and specialized medications for eye care.
