Massive calls for protests to prevent Netanyahu Berlin, London visit
Al Mayadeen correspondent says about 1,000 Israeli academics are appealing to the German and British ambassadors to cancel Netanyahu's visit to the countries.
Al Mayadeen correspondent in occupied Palestine reported on Tuesday that there are calls for massive demonstrations by vehicles near Ben Gurion Airport on Wednesday to obstruct the departure of the Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife to Berlin and London.
Our correspondent said about a thousand Israeli academics are appealing to the ambassadors of Germany and Britain to cancel Netanyahu's visit to the two countries.
Israeli Knesset Member and former Israeli occupation Chief of Staff, Gadi Eisenkot, considered that "Israel" is now passing through one of the most dangerous security periods since the 1973 October War.
Israeli Channel 7 said the head of the "Yisrael" Beiteinu party, Avigdor Lieberman, attacked Netanyahu's government, saying "Israel" is going through a legislative-economic crisis and is "isolated" in the world.
This comes at a time when a crucial component of the legislation for "judicial reform", the "override clause", was passed by the Israeli Knesset in its first reading, with 61 votes for and 52 against.
The passed component now limits the Israeli High Court's ability to invalidate laws and overturn decisions.
The draft amendments to the "Basic Law: The Government", which were approved in its first reading, stipulate the fortification of the position of the Prime Minister and prevent the judicial advisor to the government from declaring the Premier unfit for office.
"Israel" is witnessing protests against the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, especially its plans related to judiciary reforms. This is not all; many have warned that a "civil war" was just around the corner for the Israeli occupation. pic.twitter.com/Hza4rScjFu
