Massive Israeli strikes hit residential areas in Beirut, Bekaa
The airstrikes, which occurred overnight, have caused significant destruction in residential areas, leaving many buildings engulfed in flames.
Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes on the Southern Suburb of Beirut last night, Thursday, and into the early hours of Friday, as part of the ongoing aggression on Lebanon.
The strikes targeted areas including Choueifat, Amrousiyeh, Haret Hreik, and St. Therese, reaching the vicinity of Burj al-Barajneh. The most intense attacks occurred in Choueifat and Amrousiyeh, where two buildings were destroyed and a large fire broke out, blanketing the area in black smoke.
One airstrike in the St. Therese area caused the collapse of two buildings near the Constitutional Council.

Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Beirut reported that "plumes of smoke are still rising this morning as a result of the intense airstrikes that targeted the Southern Suburb of Beirut." The airstrikes, which occurred overnight, caused significant destruction in residential areas, leaving many buildings engulfed in flames. The aftermath of the bombardment has created a thick haze over the region, underscoring the severity of the attacks, as per our correspondent.
Israeli war machine: Ongoing aggression and destruction
Concurrently, the Israeli occupation continues its aggression against various regions in Lebanon, focusing bombardment on the South, Bekaa Valley, and the Southern Suburb of Beirut. The attacks have resulted in significant casualties and extensive destruction, targeting both residential areas and vital economic sites as part of a systematic destruction policy.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Bekaa reported earlier today that Israeli occupation aircraft targeted the Masnaa and Josieh border crossings between Lebanon and Syria, which led to cutting off the road between Lebanon and Syria from the Bekaa side.
"All crossings between Bekaa and Syria are now cut off due to the Israeli aggression," our correspondent affirmed.
'Israel' attacks press in Lebanon, Al Mayadeen mourns two colleagues
Israeli occupation forces carried out an aerial attack on the place of residence of press crews in Hasbayya, southern Lebanon. As a result of the strike, several journalists, cameramen, and technicians were killed or injured.
Following the deliberate attack on the freedom of the press, Al Mayadeen announced the martyrdom of two members of its crew covering the Israeli war on Lebanon across the southern front. The martyrs are cameraman, Ghassan Najjar, and broadcast engineer, Mohammad Reda.
Additionally, the Lebanese Civil Defense reported early Friday that three journalists were killed in the Israeli airstrike on the town of Hasbayya in southern Lebanon.
It is worth noting that the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon has killed 2,593 people and wounded 12,119 others since the start of the offensive on October 8, 2023, the Public Health Emergency Operations Center, part of the Ministry of Public Health, announced on Thursday.
The Israeli occupation forces have expanded their assaults over the past month, targeting civilians across Lebanon—from southern villages to the Bekaa, Baalbek, northern regions, and even the capital, Beirut, along with its Southern Suburb.
