Millions of Iranians held mass rallies and marches on Sunday morning in the capital, Tehran, as well as in other cities and provinces, to commemorate the tenth day of Muharram, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in the Islamic Republic of Iran reported. The event marks a solemn national day of mourning and religious significance.

This year’s Ashura commemorations in Iran were especially charged with patriotic fervor, coinciding with the Islamic Republic’s triumph over the Israeli-American aggression launched against it.
The mass rallies witnessed substantial momentum, with crowds filling the streets under the slogan "Hussain's Iran is forever victorious."
Sayyed Khamenei attends Ashura ceremony in Tehran
Al Mayadeen's correspondent highlighted the significant presence of the Leader of the Revolution and the Islamic Republic, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, who attended the Ashura ceremony on Saturday at the Imam Khomeini Hussainiyah in Tehran.
This marked his first public appearance since the war, underscoring both internal and external messages of resilience and unity.

Our correspondent reported that while the enemy sought to intimidate Sayyed Khamenei, "he stood firm among the people, sending a powerful message that he was one of them and that the banner of Resistance will never fall."
Commemorations in Mashhad and Tabriz
Moreover, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian participated in the mourning ceremonies in Tabriz, the capital of East Azerbaijan Province in northwestern Iran. During his visit, he engaged with residents and listened attentively to their remarks, reinforcing the government's bond with the people during this solemn and sacred occasion.
In Mashhad, a massive crowd gathered at the Imam Reza Shrine to mark the Ashura commemorations. The revered spiritual site was filled with mourners observing the day with solemn devotion and heartfelt reverence.
