Mohammad bin Zayed elected UAE president
The new ruler is declared just a day after the Sheikh Khalifa's death.
After UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, passed away, UAE's long-time de facto ruler Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan - or MBZ - was elected on Saturday as president.
Al Nahyan was elected by the Federal Supreme Council, according to the WAM news agency.
As Khalifa rested due to his poor health, MBZ was responsible for making decisions for the country over the past years.
MBZ has "reshaped" the region by selling away the Palestinian cause for a Kushner-brokered normalization agreement between the UAE and "Israel," in addition to its heavy participation in the Saudi-led coalition against Yemen, which led to an endless, bloody war.
