More than 60 victims were martyred and more than 120 wounded in a Saudi airstrike.

Today, rescuers combed through the rubbles in a search for survivors watched breathlessly by relatives of the missing.

More than 60 victims were martyred and more than 120 wounded as a result of the Saudi coalition raids, which directly targeted the central prison in Saada on Friday.

Earlier, the Saudi coalition aircraft targeted the communications tower in the city of Al-Hudaydah, which led to six martyrs, including three children, and 18 wounded, most of whom are children.

On the dire situation where rescuers are digging through the debris with their bare hands, the International Committee of the Red Cross spokesman Basheer Omar told AFP that "rescue operations are still ongoing”, adding that they were still looking for "missing and dead people".

On his account, Ahmed Mahat, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) head of mission in Yemen said that "this is the latest in a long line of unjustifiable airstrikes carried out by the Saudi-led coalition on places like schools, hospitals, markets, wedding parties and prisons."

"The internet has been cut off for most of the country, again reportedly after a Saudi-led coalition airstrike on a telecommunication building in Hodeida. There has also been heavy fighting recently on front lines throughout the country. All this shows that despite the war having dragged on for seven years the end of suffering for people in Yemen is nowhere in sight," he added.

Two MSF staff members who live in Saada City were in their homes near the prison at the time of the airstrike. They said that they have heard fighter jets and three separate explosions.

"There is no way to deny that this is an airstrike, everyone in Saada City heard it," said one of the MSF staff.

"I live one kilometer from the prison and my house was shaking from the explosions."

Rights groups have long condemned the Saudi-led coalition for civilian casualties in its violent airstrikes.
