The Muslim Brotherhood has expressed full support for Iran in the face of what it described as Israeli aggression, sending a message of solidarity to Sayyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In its letter, the group emphasized that the Israeli attack on Iran marked "a new phase in the aggression against occupied Palestine," attributing it to Iran’s ongoing support for Palestinian resistance movements. The Brotherhood highlighted that the attack carried strategic motives, noting that it was part of the "occupation's pursuit to assert its dominance over the region by weakening centers of power."
Resistance support and regional dominance
The Brotherhood underscored that, beyond retaliation, the Israeli offensive had broader implications. It sought to destabilize regional centers of resistance, particularly those aiding Palestinian liberation efforts. The group's statement articulated a deep concern for the ongoing situation in Palestine, urging a united response from the Islamic world.
The Muslim Brotherhood stated that “one nation, one enemy” should be the guiding principle in the face of such external threats, further stressing the need for solidarity in the fight against the Israeli occupation.
Call for Islamic unity under Khamenei
The Brotherhood's letter to Sayyed Khamenei conveyed a strong message of unity, asserting that the Islamic world is bound together in "religious, spiritual, civilizational, and geopolitical terms." The group affirmed that "our enemy is one," referring to "Israel," and emphasized that the first step in facing this enemy is to unite the Islamic ummah.
It called for the mobilization of the region’s "living, active forces" under a comprehensive strategic vision that transcends the errors and divisions of past years. The Brotherhood criticized internal conflicts that had weakened the Islamic world, pointing out that the real beneficiaries of such discord had always been the enemies of the ummah.
A shared responsibility across the region
The statement concluded by honoring the sacrifices being made in Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran. It emphasized that these ongoing struggles place a "great responsibility" on the Muslim world to intensify efforts toward unity, reject division, and foster complementarity in their collective endeavors.
