Nations attacking Islam will face consequences: Iraqi Kataib Hezbollah
The Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades call on Islamic nations to play their role in defending the Holy Quran and to adopt firm stances against countries that commit violations against it.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Kataib Hezbollah in Iraq, also known as the Hezbollah Brigades, called on Islamic nations to "play their role in defending the Quran" and to take a firm stance against countries wherein the Holy Quran is repeatedly desecrated with authorization, support, and protection.
The Resistance group emphasized that persistent hostility toward Islam by these nations will result in consequences akin to those faced by enemies on the battlefield.
Concurrently, Iraq commemorated the martyrdom of Imam Hussain ibn Ali (AS), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), at the Battle of Karbala in the year 61 AH (AD 680).
Muslims commemorate the day of Ashura with massive rallies, specifically in Iraq, where tens of thousands of worshippers have been flooding into Iraq's holy city of Karbala.
Participants in this year's commemoration highlighted their unwavering attachment to the Holy Quran. Chants and slogans in support of Imam Hussain echoed through the city, affirming their reverence for the Quran and rejecting the systematic desecration perpetrated by various Western entities.
Earlier, Hezbollah's Secretary-General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, touched on the desecration of the Holy Quran, urging the Swedish and Dutch governments and the whole world to understand that "we are an Ummah that does not tolerate any attack or desecration of its sanctities.”
He added that for hundreds of years, the nation has been built culturally, spiritually, and emotionally to reject grievance, humiliation, and aggression. That said, he stressed that the "insistence that took place over the past few days on the desecration of the Quran in Denmark is an attack on Islam and a billion Muslims."
The Secretary-General believes that the countries part of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation should convey a strong and resolute message to these governments that such attacks will be met with a diplomatic and political boycott. He continues, however, that "if Islamic countries fail to act [in defense of the Quran], then Muslim youth must act in accordance with their responsibility and punish the desecrators and await no one to defend their religion."

Nasrallah warned that if nations don't take such an action, then the brave and zealous Muslim youth in the world must punish those who desecrate the burning of the Quran in defense of their religion and should not wait for anyone to defend it for them.
He added that the Muslim youth in the world will act freely if the two governments do not stop such attacks, and the world will witness their zeal and readiness to sacrifice in defense of the Qur'an," revealing that this year's slogan is: "Labaik (At your service), O' Quran, Labaik, O' Hussein, Labaik, O' Mahdi."
