Netanyahu chooses control of Philadelphi Axis over Israeli captives
After "Israel" retrieved the bodies of captives killed by the IOF in March, Netanyahu admits preferring control over the Philadelphi Corridor over the return of the remaining captives.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has told senior members of the negotiating team that he "prefers the Philadelphi Axis at this time if it comes down to a choice between the hostages and maintaining control over the corridor," according to Israeli Channel 12.
Simultaneously, Israeli military spokesperson Daniel Hagari stated that "work is ongoing round the clock to create favorable conditions" for the return of all captives from Gaza while acknowledging the "inability to return all captives through military operations."
Hagari announced that an investigation will be conducted into the deaths of the six captives whose bodies were recovered from Gaza on Tuesday, claiming that the circumstances of their deaths "remain unclear."
Earlier, Israeli media revealed that five of the six Israeli captives retrieved from Gaza today were killed in Israeli aggression during the ground invasion of Khan Younis six months ago.
Channel 12 cited the Israeli occupation forces as saying their attacks on Khan Younis could have killed the captives.
Meanwhile, Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth revealed that the captives suffocated to death in a tunnel after a fire broke out due to the Israeli bombardment of the area.
In the same context, The Wall Street Journal cited Israeli security officials as saying that it is generally believed that "more hostages will return killed," if a ceasefire deal that could save them is not reached.
The newspaper claimed that most security officials in the occupation "insist that reaching an agreement is the only way to secure the release of the remaining 105 captives," who were taken on October 7.
WSJ quoted a former Israeli intelligence official as saying that "most of the hostages will not return to Israel unless an agreement is reached."
