Netanyahu stuck in war with no end in sight: Senior official
Hamas top official Osama Hamdan says the Israeli occupation failed in achieving its declared goals in the war on Gaza and is currently stuck in a war with no end in sight.
The Israeli occupation failed in terms of achieving any of the declared goals of its aggression on the Gaza Strip, and his regime is currently stuck in a war with no end in sight as its army is incurring major losses and its soldiers are fleeing the battlefield, Hamas senior official Osama Hamdan said on Saturday.
Hamdan reiterated that "there will be no negotiation concerning the occupation's captives" until hostilities cease, underscoring that Israeli captives were left in limbo "because Netanyahu willed it." He urged their families to "take charge" of determining the fate of their kin.
The Hamas top official adamantly declared that the threats made by the Israeli war cabinet to eradicate the al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing, crumbled entirely. "The al-Qassam Brigades now wield greater prowess in the field."
Hamdan further critiqued UN Security Council Resolution 2720 as feeble and insufficient, asserting it fails to address the true needs of the people of Gaza, and went on to accuse the United States of diluting its genuine content.
Meanwhile, he commended the efforts of Arab nations that drafted the resolution and acknowledged the Russian push for an end to the war.
Hamdan stressed that it was the Security Council's responsibility to facilitate aid to all sectors of Gaza, calling for the dismissal of the Israeli occupation's demands before reminding the Arab and Muslim nations of their commitment to swiftly deliver aid to Gaza.
He stressed that the atrocities committed during the war being waged by the "Israeli Nazis" will be etched into the collective memory of the Palestinian people, saying it was a stain on the reputation of both those committing it and those aiding and abetting in it.
Hamdan also underlined that the Israeli occupation's crimes will not break the Palestinian people, "who will remain resilient and resistant until the occupation is inevitably eradicated."
Hamdan called on the international community and international organizations to adopt a resolute stance against the occupation's crimes, particularly against the health sector.
He disclosed that the occupation engages in summary executions against Gaza's inhabitants, including pregnant women, and called for the prosecution of all those responsible for such crimes.
Hamdan concluded by highlighting that the Palestinian martyrs and casualties were not mere statistics; "they are individuals with hopes and dreams."
20,000 victims and counting...
The death toll from Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has risen to 20,258, according to Gaza's health ministry on Telegram Saturday, reporting an additional 53,688 people injured.
The Palestinian Government Information Office in Gaza said the Israeli occupation forces carried out summary executions of 137 civilians in the Gaza and North governorates.
On December 20, the OHCHR released a document revealing and condemning the murders of 11 unarmed Palestinian men by the IOF right in front of their families, raising a possible commission of a war crime.
The report added that the occupation forces ordered women and children into a room "and either shot at them or threw a grenade into the room, reportedly seriously injuring some of them, including an infant and a child."
In a horrific report, the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor revealed that Israeli troops executed dozens of Palestinian elderly in front of their families after telling them it was safe to evacuate.
The report also estimated that 1,049 elderly people have been killed by "Israel", making up 3.9% of the total death toll of Palestinians since October 7. The martyrs were killed by Israeli airstrikes as the rubble of their homes or the shelters they sought safety in collapsed over them, or while gathering basic life supplies from the streets or marketplaces around their towns.
According to analysts who spoke with Associated Press, "Israel's" war on Gaza is currently among the bloodiest and most devastating in recent history.
In just over two months, the attack has destroyed more than what was seen as a result of the battle in Syria's Aleppo between 2012 and 2016, Ukraine's Mariupol, or the Allied bombardment of Germany during World War II and killed more people than the fight against ISIS.
