Netanyahu vows to continue aggression on Lebanon even after truce deal
This comes as reports recently indicated that the US has proposed a ceasefire to address the ongoing war on Lebanon.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Monday that "Israel" will continue its military operations against Hezbollah even if a ceasefire agreement is reached in Lebanon.
"The most important thing is not (the deal that) will be laid on paper... We will be forced to ensure our security in the north (of Israel) and to systematically carry out operations against Hezbollah's attacks... even after a ceasefire", to keep the Resistance from regrouping, Netanyahu said before the Knesset.
This comes as reports recently indicated that the US has proposed a ceasefire to address the ongoing war on Lebanon. US envoy Amos Hochstein is scheduled to visit Beirut on Tuesday to discuss securing a ceasefire between "Israel" and Hezbollah.
Axios however reported that Hochstein is holding off his visit until he receives "more clarifications" regarding Lebanon's position on the ceasefire.
Intensified aggression
The visit comes in light of intensified Israeli strikes in Beirut and a new US truce proposal delivered to Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
The international community stresses that any Lebanon ceasefire should align with UN Security Council Resolution 1701. However, "Israel's" insistence on dismantling the Lebanese Resistance has significantly complicated efforts to achieve a ceasefire.

"Israel's" aggression on Lebanon, initiated in response to Hezbollah's support for Palestine, has caused the displacement of over a million people in Lebanon and the martyrdom of thousands.
Earlier today, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported an Israeli airstrike targeted the ground floor of a four-story building in the densely populated Zqaq al-Blat area of Beirut, striking the local mayor's office.
The Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the Ministry of Public Health issued a statement confirming that the updated toll from the Israeli airstrike on the Zqaq al-Blat area in Beirut now stands at five martyrs and 24 injured.
