New settlements end 'two-state' solution: Mahmoud Abbas aide
The new Israeli settlement plan and Netanyahu's war on Gaza erase hopes for a "two-state solution", says PA President Mahmoud Abbas's advisor, Mahmoud al-Habbash.

An Israeli decision to approve the construction of new settlements in the West Bank is destroying the very idea of a Palestinian state and the prospect of a "two-state solution", said Mahmoud al-Habbash, an adviser to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, in a statement to RIA Novosti.
"All the old and new Israeli settlements are illegal and destroy the idea of a Palestinian state or a two-state solution," the advisor stated.
These Israeli actions are leading to completely different outcomes that extend beyond the "two-state solution", such as the potential proclamation of a single state for all citizens or the creation of an apartheid system that would be unacceptable to the international community, according to the official.
Netanyahu's 'Israel' prolonging the war on Gaza deliberately
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is intentionally prolonging the war on Gaza out of fear for his own political future once the conflict concludes, according to Mahmoud al-Habbash in comments to RIA Novosti.
"I don't think Netanyahu wants a truce - he wants war. From his point of view, any pause or cessation of the war will only bring his departure from the political scene in Israel closer, because it will open the doors for legal and judicial accountability," the advisor stated.
The official stated that the issue extends beyond the war itself to include longstanding corruption accusations against Netanyahu, who views the ongoing conflict as a vital lifeline for his political survival and is therefore pushing for further escalation.
Ending the war at any cost remains the highest priority for Palestine, leading its authorities to actively attempt to deprive Netanyahu of any justifications or pretexts for continuing his aggression against the Palestinian people, al-Habbash added.
Unlimited US support dims hopes for less aggression
"But given the limitless US support for Netanyahu and his reckless adventures, whether in the Gaza Strip, Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, or Syria, the situation does not look promising with this Israeli government, which believes only in expansion, war, and brute force," Abbas' aide said.
The presidential aide added that Palestine continues to hope for increased international pressure and intervention to force the prime minister to agree to a ceasefire and to open a political path that would eliminate tensions in the region.
