The director of defense media operations says around 622 terrorists surrendered to Nigerian forces during the raids.
The Nigerian Army announced Saturday that its military operations across the country over the past week resulted in the elimination of 108 terrorists and the rescue of 214 hostages held by terrorist groups in various regions.
During the raids, Nigerian forces discovered 66 firearms and 4,087 rounds of assorted ammunition, including machine guns, RPG launchers, and 19 vehicles and motorcycles, according to the director of defense media operations, Major General Edward Buba.
He added that the Nigerian forces also found four mine-resistant vehicles, two machine guns, three fabricated rifles, six Dane rifles, three locally-made pistols, six magazines, an ammunition belt, and two HH radios.
Buba pointed out that around 622 terrorists surrendered to Nigerian forces during the raids, explaining that these achievements are part of Operation Hadin Kai, which employs both infantry and air units against extremist entities such as Boko Haram, which is based in Borno State in the north.
