Northern settlements close doors, settlers fear Hezbollah tunnels
Israeli media are reporting on the concerns of settlers in the northern regions regarding Hezbollah's capabilities. In response, the occupation has closed the gates of settlements along the border with Lebanon, prohibiting movement until further notice.
Israeli media reported on Thursday that the northern settlements closed their gates along the border with Lebanon until further notice, following a broad assessment of the Israeli army's situation. Additionally, settlers in those adjacent settlements were urged to reduce their movement.
This comes after Al Mayadeen's correspondent in southern Lebanon reported that a woman was martyred and her husband was injured early on Thursday in an Israeli bombing that targeted their house in the town of Maroun al-Ras.
Israeli fear of tunnels
On Thursday, Israeli media reported concerns within "Israel" regarding tunnels allegedly dug by Hezbollah in areas adjacent to the border with occupied Palestine.
According to Yedioth Ahronoth, settlers in border settlements are "confident that Hezbollah has significant tunnels there."
The website added, "Following the revelation of Hamas' extensive tunnel network in the Gaza Strip, settlers at the northern front once again voiced their concerns about Hezbollah's underground threat."
The same source added that warnings about excavations had been issued for many years, and in 2018, tunnels penetrating "Israel" were identified. The head of the 'Shtula' area stated, "I don't know if all the tunnels have been found. We will not allow the government to buy a truce from Nasrallah in a political agreement."
'Too late; mission accomplished'
A few days ago, on December 18, the military wing of the Hamas Resistance movement, al-Qassam Brigades, published Monday a video in response to a "discovery" made by the Israeli occupation forces, which comprised of the latter finding a tunnel in the northern Gaza Strip.
Hamas explained that the tunnel was dug up solely to carry out Operation al-Aqas Flood, telling the Israeli occupation forces that they were too little too late: "You arrive late... mission had already been completed," the video said in Arabic, Hebrew, and English.
The IOF had on Sunday published footage showing Israeli security minister Yoav Gallant touring the tunnel and taking pictures at its entry in an apparent bid to celebrate a "military accomplishment" made by the Israeli occupation forces more than 70 days into the aggression on Gaza and some 50 days of their invasion of the blockaded strip.
The Israeli occupation has set the discovery of the Resistance's tunnel network as one of the key objectives of the aggression on Gaza.

The details regarding the tunnel and its location show that the "military achievement" made by "Israel" is devoid of any real value.
